We were honored to be a part of the special day for Dana and Tim on a gorgeous summer day, June 12, when they were married at one of our favorite venues in Stillwater, Minnesota. This wonderful couple wanted to enjoy time with friends and family and didn’t want a huge, elaborate celebration, keeping things simple from the decorations to the bouquets/flowers.
The Venue: Washington County Historic Courthouse
Added to the vintage/historical/old school atmosphere couple was going for
Quaint, intimate, simple, beautiful venue
Had the old jail cell open during cocktail hour
Outdoor ceremony on the steps of the courthouse
The Inspiration: Vintage/old school with purple and lime green accents
Overall vintage/old school atmosphere from the centerpieces, to the venue, to the “Just Married Bike”
Pops of purple and lime green were used throughout from the napkins to the cupcakes to the bridesmaids dresses
The Wedding Cake
Individual cupcakes instead of traditional cake
Couple cut the cake topper – no announcement, couple wanted things kept simple, nothing over the top
Took place outside on the grounds surrounding the courthouse
Drinks and popcorn were served
Above photos done by Michael Hamerlind Photography
Bride created/put together all of the centerpieces
Each centerpiece was a little different
Things such as old records, gold vases with baby’s breath, pearls, old books, vintage silver trays, scrabble letters, doilies, etc. were used
Drapingwas done on the staircase and behind the head table to add visual interest/dramatic effect.
We were delighted to be a part of Jacob and Katie’s wedding on August 6th, a beautiful summer day.
The ceremony was held at a church and the reception was held outside at a family members house in Wisconsin
With the reception being held outside on a private property and over 300 people in attendance, PartyOnWeddings managed the rental items and the décor of the reception space. PartyOnWeddings provided and set-up the large staked tent, tables and chairs and arranged the linens, as well as the lights used throughout the reception area.
§ Strung lights in the tent and in the barn area
§ Centerpieces were kept simple and rustic – lanterns and a mason jar flower arrangement were placed on top of a wooden slab/tree trunk slice.
§ Personalized mason jars at each place setting
§ Lace and burlap on the appetizer table and some of the cocktail tables.
§ Wooden signage throughout
§ Old photographs of Bride & Groom’s parents were placed on cocktail tables
o Famous Dave’s for dinner and Sara’s Tipsy Pies and ice cream was served for dessert
o Mason jars as cups with tags for people to write their names (the mason jars also served as the wedding favor, guests could take them home at the end of the night!)
This couple enjoyed a rustic wedding of their dreams, that was simplistic yet full of wonderful personal touches & details. Congratulations Jacob & Katie!
